I have to admit I can’t remember what this was for. Someone at work, either a birthday or a farewell. I found the scan in my folder when I was cleaning out emails.
The stamp is one of my favourites, it is like a Renaissance depiction of the sun in the heavens. There is a similar version of La Luna but that never grabbed me as much. I liked the warm tones – reds, coppers, golds – because they capture the heat and colour of the sun.
The marbled papers are hand made by women in Bangladesh, and are sold through a fair trade program. I think the craft shop I got them from doesn’t exist any more, which is a shame, but I have a stash of them that I like to use on special occasions. On this card I used both a cream and gold piece and a burgandy one.
Actually I think I remember what it was for! One of the student casuals finished her degree and graduated – this was a ‘Congratulations’ card that the whole team signed.
Right, feeling better about it now.
