This was for our new teammate who had her birthday last week. A quick office poll showed that her favourite colour is coral so I did my best to work with that palette. And she has also just come back from a trip to Europe (for a wedding) so I wanted to tie in with that. And Mel always has big bows and clips and ribbons in her hair, I wanted to draw on that inflence too.
Buff cardstock, A4 folded to A5 and edged with Vintage Photo distress ink, piece of marbled paper layered on top. Decorative paper cut down, edged in Vintage Photo distress ink, layered on gold paper. Orange Cor’dinations cardstock embossed with a cameo design, distressed to show the the core colour, and the swiped with Vintage Photodisgress ink. All layers assembled together and material flower folded in half, decorative brad added, and then secured to the top left corner.
Inside: white paper punched with doily border and edged with ink. Card edged with ink on the sides. Birthday stamp on the right. Background stamp in Antique Linen ink of ‘Style is Eternal’
With the envelope I kept it fairly basic as I wasn’t able to match the dress images. I used the aging block to put some spots and crackle in the corners, swiped colour down the left side, and then added a second flower – this time not folded – to the top corner.
Very happy with it, the colours worked, she put the flower from the envelope on the wall at work, and everyone seemed to think it was very suited to the recipient
